Kindergarten through 8th Grade…Really?

REALLY!

Our Hands on Health museum can comfortably manage a tour of 20-25 students per visit.

We do understand that there are times when a tour for a larger group is needed.  For tours consisting of 30-50 students, we will split the students into two smaller groups with one staying in the assigned classroom in which we will have a special guest to present a health lesson and the other half going into HOH.  The group going into HOH will then be split into three smaller groups and assigned to a guide who will explain to the students the different exhibits.

Please understand that with most tours, especially the larger ones, chaperones are extremely important to have.  If possible, we ask that there be a 5:1 student to chaperone ratio to help with the tours, assisting our guides with the children.

Groups of 60-100 are possible but require special planning.  There is a park not far from our facility that half of the children can go to while the others are taking a tour.  We will take half of your large group and go through the touring process mentioned above for tours between 30-50 students.  Please plan on a tour for a group this large to take approximately three hours to go completely through Hands on Health.

Field Trips

Hands on Health School Field Trips are FREE!

During 2010 – 2011 the Center is available for school tours every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Please register your tour below and we will contact you to confirm your tour.

The Center’s exhibits will be age-appropriately programmed so that your students will experience the Center at their level.  Students will be placed in groups and visit each exhibit where a volunteer will explain each area and the professionals that work there.

Our goal is for the students (and adults!) to have an exciting time while learning about healthcare professionals and the need to have a healthy lifestyle.
